Yourself or others first?

In my opinion I have always thought of other people first. But, you have to care for yourself to be able to care for others. Well i still would have to say that caring for others that need it most is best. For example, I get my friends and family presents for the holidays with my money that i get for my birthday. I just think that the feeling of giving things to others that need or want things is better than the feeling that you get when someone else gives you something you wanted or needed.

The Pearl

Kino: the pearl brings out oppurtunity to live better to kino he dreamed of a rifle school for coyotito and new clothes and that they should be married. Kino has so much of the pearls idea wrapped around him that he doesnt understand that its not going to bring them any good.

Juana: the pearl symbolizes evil to juana she knows that the pearl will bring them evil because of the greed all around them. Juana unlike kino knows that the pearl is evil shortly after it was found because so far it hadnt brought anything good so far.

Townspeople: The townspeople were the ones that would spread the gossip and would kind of tell kino what they were laking and remind him of what he has.

The Doctor: the doctor even though he has so much he still doesnt want anyone to be wealthier than he is. this massive amount of greed comes out from him like and ominous cloud of dust.
